Our "Engage & Equip" program is an exciting opportunity for youth to try new activities and grow in skills. From January to March we will be focusing on Leadership: growing in leadership skills by doing the "Heroes" program. The purpose of the Heroes program is to help promote healthy, resilient students through discovering their identity and purpose in this world. The Heroes website says: “Heroes is a proven social-emotional program designed to build the resilience of young people. Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports (VISAS) will showcase its adaptive snow sports students and some of its 90+ volunteer instructors in action with visual displays and interactive demonstrations of their capabilities while educating spectators about VISAS’s history and its dedication to making snow sports accessible to people with cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities.
